“For the first time in Uzbekistan, Astana-ballet will present the heritage of the Great Steppe and A Fuego Lento”
The Astana Ballet Theater presents the Heritage of the Great Steppe concert program and the one-act ballet AFuegoLento.
One of the main directions of the Astana Ballet Theater is the development and creation of new dance compositions based on the national choreographic plastics. Working in this direction, Kazakh choreographers are trying to find a harmonious relationship between ethnographic material and their choreographer's intentions, while not losing the sense of character and unique originality of the national dance. The concert program "Heritage of the Great Steppe" in the author's interpretation of Mukaram Avahri and Aigul Tati includes characteristic folk dances, embodied in different styles and using a variety of artistic techniques. All dance compositions are united by the main idea - to reveal the fragile beauty of our planet, which is associated with the feminine principle, giving peace, love and harmony.
One act ballet "A Fuego Lento"
Music - Lalo Schifrin, Astor Piazzolla, Carlos Gardel, Sao Kosugi
Choreography, set design, light, costumes - Ricardo Amarante
The premiere took place on October 5, 2016.
Each number of the presented one-act ballet is a dance fantasy in the style of tango with an obvious Forsythe bias, in which not so much emotional mood is important as a virtuoso technique of performance, a bright spectacular movement and figures. The burning element of perhaps the most sensual dance, tango, in Ricardo Amarante’s one-act ballet “A Fuego Lento” (“Slow Fire”) tells how a person discovers his first feelings of love and desire. The Argentines themselves call their favorite dance “a song of love” - beautiful, full of restrained, and at times even naked fire and, at the same time, elusive, like the very illusion of love based only on passion.
