Murojon Akhmadaliev, the bantamweight boxer in his eighth fight in the professional ring, defeated American boxer Daniel Roman and became the owner of the IBF and WBA Super world titles. This fight took place on January 30, 2020 in Miami (Florida, USA).
The uniqueness of Murajon Akhmadaliev's victory lies in the fact that for the first time in the history of Uzbek boxing, he simultaneously became the world champion in two leading versions in professional boxing. He also updated Leon Spinks' 1978 record, who beat Muhammad Ali in the eighth fight as well, winning two titles.
According to the regulations, M. Akhmadaliev will have to defend the title by the IBF. His rival, the representative of Japan Ryosuke Iwasa, is unofficially the third in the world rankings in his weight category. After lengthy negotiations, a decision was reached to hold a mandatory fight between M. Ahmadaliv and Resuke Iwasada to defend both WBA & IBF titles in Uzbekistan. Together with the promotion company Matchroom (USA) on April 3 this year, it is planned to organize and hold a unique sporting event in Uzbekistan - professional fights with the participation of the best Uzbek boxers, including, as the main event, the fight between Akhmadaliv M. and Ryosuke Iwasa.
Also, within the framework of the event, the fights of Israil Madrimov, Shahram Giyasov, Bakhodir Jalolov, Elnur Abduraimov, Khasanboy Dusmatov, Sanzhar Tursunov, Ikbolzhon Kholdorov and Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov will take place. The event is planned to be held on the basis of the sports complex "Humo-Arena". The world broadcast of the matches is planned to be organized through the participation of the DAZN TV broadcaster, one of the leading companies in the television sports industry and has extensive experience in covering major sporting events.
