Creative Evening Guzel Yakhina

About event

On April 26, a creative evening of writer Guzel Yakhina will be held at G0 Kitob Olami

Participants of the event will meet with the popular author of the works “Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes”, “My Children”, Echelon to Samarkand”, winner of the “Big Book” and “Yasnaya Polyana” awards. The moderator will be Aziza Umarova.

Yakhina’s work tells about the first decades of Soviet times. On the one hand, this is a time of tragedies and crimes, dispossession and exile. On the other hand, at the same time, important processes began, the fruits of which we are enjoying now: the law on universal education, women's emancipation, the foundations of the Soviet person.

The debut historical novel “Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes,” which became a bestseller, glorified the writer throughout the world. The work has been translated into 30 languages. The circulation exceeded 600 thousand copies.

The destinies of entire nations are intertwined in her books. After all, Turkestan received a huge number of starving people from the Volga region in 1921-1923. At the same time, the legendary phrase and book “Tashkent is a city of grain” appeared.

That is why at the meeting there will be a separate discussion of “Echelon to Samarkand” - a travel novel about the evacuation of five hundred street children from Kazan to Samarkand. A series of exciting adventures along the way, a vast geography, a palette of destinies and characters: refugee peasants, security officers, Basmachi fighters of the liberation movement, Cossacks, the eccentric world of street children.

There are two types of entrance tickets on sale:
🟥"Standard" and 🟦"Premium".

🟥Standard only includes participation in the evening, while 🟦Premium guarantees front row seats, an autographed book from the author,  as well as participation in a dinner with the writer at the end of the event.
