On June 1, 2026, the premiere of the play “Caliph-Stork” will take place at the Uzbek National Puppet Theatre, directed by Roman Boklanov with scenography and costume design by Alina Korytova.
Based on Wilhelm Hauff’s classic fairy tale, the production reimagines the story as a reflection on the search for freedom and the price of loneliness. The protagonist longs to gain wings and fly away — yet the path to true flight turns out to be something entirely different. Magical transformations, 16 performers, more than 30 puppets, and an international creative team will create a rich, multilayered stage world for audiences aged 6 and up.
Act 1 — 60 minutes
