In the famous Turkish writer Rashad Nuri Guntekin's play "Halala" the superstition is condemned. The main character gives his wife divorce when he is drunk as a lord. He lets the woman marry another man so he can remarry her which is stated in a religious way of remarrying. The second man does not gives a divorce then which makes the situation worse leading conflicts. As the events develop, the drunk man forfeits his wife eventually.
