Boris Grebenshchikov and the band “Aquarium”
A new album (Strange News from a Distant Star) + timeless “Aquarium” classics.
Boris Grebenshchikov:
“The return to the name ‘Aquarium’ is explained by the fact that it represents the ‘real’ and is a ‘shining beast’ that brings healing.”
“Aquarium” is a cultural phenomenon that once defined the development of Russian-language music for decades to come. Today, while remaining true to its spirit of freedom, “Aquarium” is not nostalgia or repetition of the past, but a living dialogue with the present. Over half a century, more than one generation of listeners has changed, yet “Aquarium” remains a cult band, centered around Boris Grebenshchikov — poet, composer, musician, and one of the most significant figures in modern Russian culture.
Alongside new material, the concert will feature songs that have long become part of the cultural code — written in different decades, yet still alive, relevant, and open to new interpretations. Today, “Aquarium” on stage is a living organism, attentive to everything that is happening around it.
