The Igor Moiseyev Academic Folk Dance Ensemble, world-famous as the “Igor Moiseyev Ballet”, will present its famous program in Tashkent on November 30, 2024, on the stage of the Alisher Navoi Bolshoi Theater. Created in 1937 by the outstanding 20th century choreographer Igor Moiseyev, the ensemble became a pioneer in the synthesis of classical ballet and folk dances, thereby opening a new genre in the art of choreography. The Foundation for the Development of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan is especially proud to support the performances of the theater, which not only preserves, but also develops folk dance traditions, harmoniously combining them with modern elements.
Over the 87 years of its existence, the ensemble has toured more than 70 countries, including the USA, France and Italy, where its performances have gathered thousands of people. Thanks to the universal language of dance, the group has won the love of audiences around the world. Today, the group is led by Moiseyev's student, People's Artist of Russia Elena Shcherbakova.
